Rev. Wilbur Glenn Bobst, 90
Rev. Wilbur Glenn Bobst, Jr., 90, of New Boston went to be with the Lord Monday, March 5, 2018 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. Born November 16, 1927 in Sciotoville, a son of the late Wilbur Glenn Bobst, Sr. and Vesta Lois (Ault) Bobst, he was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and retired with 33 years of service from OSCO Industries in Portsmouth. He was a Free Will Baptist minister for 54 years, having pastored several area churches. He enjoyed hunting and gardening, having the best garden for miles. On March 9, 1951 he married Ethel Skaggs, who preceded him in death January 31, 2018. He is survived by two sons, Richard (Sheila) Bobst of Minford and Harold (Truda) Bobst of Lucasville; a daughter, Cindy (Wayne) Baldridge of Sciotoville; six grandchildren, Jason (Christy) Bobst, David (Miranda) Bobst, Amber (Jeremy) Hall, Jonathan (Jessica) Bobst, Jennifer (Ryan) Copp, Adam Baldridge, and five great grandchildren, Jenna and Ryland Bobst, Kaity Hall, Benjamin Copp, and Madelynn Baldridge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Bobst in childhood, Donald Shomberg, and a sister, Wilma Gilbert. The family would like to thank Heritage Square and SOMC Hospice for the wonderful care they gave him.
Funeral services will be conducted Noon Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Rev. Ron Parker officiating. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace.
