June (Allen) Meade, 94, of West Portsmouth passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 in Columbus. Born September 24, 1923 in Minford, a daughter of the late Alva J. and Esther Marie Warren Allen, she was a homemaker and was of the United Methodist faith. She was a member/secretary of Scioto County Memorial Day Association, serving as leader of the Ladies of the Circle for 45 years. She also served as president of the Dept. of Ohio WWI Ladies Auxiliary, and was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 23 American Legion. For many years she enjoyed traveling with her husband to WWI Ladies Auxiliary and WWII 8th Air Force conventions. In the past several years she was active in the Silver Sneakers at the Life Center in Portsmouth. She is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Madison of Rosemount, Joni Meade of Ft. Myers, Florida; one son, Brian Meade of Ft. Wayne, IN; three grandchildren, Amanda Stump, Brittany Meade and Nicholas Meade; one step grandson, Robert T. Madison, Jr.; six great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Clyde Meade on August 9, 2012; one brother, Lt. Col. Rollo Allen, and a son-in-law, Robert T. Madison, Sr.

Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford Sunday, November 26, 2017 from Noon to 2:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Heimbach officiating. Burial will be at White Gravel Cemetery in Minford. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.

    My most sincere sympathy to you. I would love to reconnect with Rhonda with whom I attended OUP & OU Athens back in 1968-1972Losing our Mom is one of the most impacting occurrences in our lives . But do know their spirit lives on and they will always be with us.
