Wanda Crabtree, 82

Wanda Jean Crabtree, 82, of Knoxville, Tennessee, a former Minford area resident, died Saturday, July 11, 2015 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was born June 23, 1933 in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Roy and Della (Hickman) Beadle. She married Everett F. Crabtree on August 30, 1952. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1997. She was a member of West Park Baptist Church in Knoxville and Madison Missionary Baptist Church near Minford. A graduate of Minford High School in the class of 1951, her first “off the farm” job was for the former Powell Greenhouse in Minford. She ended her working years when she retired from Lockheed Martin Energy Systems in Piketon. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Patty Crabtree of Knoxville; a daughter and son-in-law, Janette and George Thompson of Cheshire, Ohio; grandchildren, Ryan (Jennifer) Crabtree, Kendra Crabtree, Jessica Thompson, Sam Thompson; great-granddaughters, Della Crabtree and Serenity Russell; a brother, Raymond Beadle of Minford; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernie and Betty Crabtree, Paul and Dorothy Ruth Boggs, Donna Joan Parsons, Wanda Cooper and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Wilma (Beadle) Blackburn and Raymond Blackburn; sister-in-law, Norma Beadle and brother-in-law, Roger Cooper, and nephews David and Michael Beadle. Pallbearers who will carry her to rest will be grandsons Ryan Crabtree and Sam Thompson, and nephews Roy Beadle and Bob, Ronnie, Donnie, and Jimmy Blackburn.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Erwin- Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastors Donald Noel and Stephen W. Curry officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery near Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
