Verna Turner, 79
Verna Louise Turner, 79, of Minford, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth. She was born June 25, 1937 in Scioto County, the daughter of the late Carl Price, Sr. and Florence May (Allison) Price. Verna was a graduate of Minford High School in the class of 1956. She was a homemaker for many years and retired from Kroger in Portsmouth. Verna was a faithful member of Harrison Freewill Baptist Church, a member of the church choir and the lady’s auxiliary. She was a beautiful testimony to her faith in the Lord, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a blessing to all who knew her. She is survived by two sons, Larry C. Turner of Minford, Lloyd E. (Jane) Turner of Chillicothe; one daughter, Rebecca L. (Bradley) Benner of Portsmouth; seven grandchildren, Wes (Amanda) McGraw of Glenwood, Arizona, Margaret McGraw of Sciotoville, Megan Campbell of West Portsmouth, Joshua, Nathaniel and Abigail Turner of Chillicothe, Lorrie (Ken) Hopkins of Canal Winchester; two great grandchildren, Elaina Campbell and Oliver McGraw, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren N. Turner on July 11, 1989 whom she married August 4, 1962; one brother, Carl Price, Jr., and one son-in-law, Carl W. McGraw, Sr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Mike Mounts officiating. Burial will be at White Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
