Teena L. Wessel,
Teena L. Wessel, 81, of Portsmouth a former Clarktown resident, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 at SOMC. Born August 5, 1934 in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Russell Charles and Sylvia Carleeta Justice Trace, she was a homemaker, attended Valley High School, was a member of Trace Family Trio for many years and traveled extensively and recorded songs written by her mother. She attended Harrison Mills Church of Christ in Christian Union. She is survived by two daughters Rhonda Wessel of Kansas, Oklahoma, Kimberly Rae (Gary) Shaddox of Clarktown; four grandchildren, Jennifer Renee Sherman, Gary D. “Buddy” (Angela) Shaddox, Steven Michael Shaddox, Brianna Joy Shaddox; two great grandchildren, Brittany and Alison Porter; one sister, Darlene DeAtley of Portsmouth; a special “son”, John Sherman, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Wessel who she married July 4, 1953 and a brother-in-law, Bill DeAtley.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Harold Cox, minister officiating. Burial will be at Scioto Cemetery in Lucasville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
