Life is about the story, and cousin Jeanne plays promently in my story. Growing up in rural Kentucky and having an older cousin (who was very smart and pretty),to set the pace for education, caring and sharing, made a mark on my life. I also became a Home Ec. teacher. We cousins from “the country” got to go to the “city” of Morehead to visit our older cousins, Jeanne and Charles, and our aunt Bonnie and Uncle Ern. That was a VERY big deal. When Jeanne and Bill got married we weren’t sure we had anything good enough to wear to the wedding. But our mother sewed dresses for my sister and me, and herself, and we hauled out our black patent leather shoes that we got for Easter, and not only did we look spiffy, but had the time of our lives!! Cousin Jeanne was loved, and will be missed by all who knew her. Our condolences to the family.

Mrs. Dodson was an gifted teacher and a grand lady who nurtured us from 1st-12th grade(1958-1970). Memories and pearls of wisdom she shared with us…Art class in 1st grade when she let us do finger painting. Art Development where we learned to identify famous artists’ works, “Botticelli, you can see their bellies.” Home Design class where we designed our future home, made hooked rugs and learned the most important rule, “Form follows function.” MHS greatly benefited from such a creative and talented educator. May she rest in Peace surrounded by the “Masters.” Condolences to the family.
